ODORI IN VANCOUVER

Vancouver is always full of surprises, as one of my subjects for the Vancouver Portrait Project said " In Vancouver you just need a bus ticket to see so many cultures, no plane ticket needed."

While on location for a shoot yesterday I came across celebrations hosted by the Buddhist temple at Jackson and Powell. The celebration is called "O Bon", which is a traditional Japanese summer festival where ancestors are honoured and remembered. This festival has lots of Japanese dancing (Odori).
